Always have to wait in line for these tacos and there is a reason, incredible. The tortillas are fresh and the meat is always tender. Never disappointed!

Great atmosphere. Better food. Service is second to none. I've gotten something new every time and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. HIGHLY recommend.

I work close to Tacos Chiwas, so I come here relatively often. They're always seems to be a lot of talk about this place. It's a really cute restaurant that pays homage to Chihuahua Mexico. There are strings of red chili on the wall, some great murals, and a seating area with some neon lights. There's a full bar, and plenty of patio seating. You order at the counter, and it's delivered to your table. I usually get three tacos - - whichever taco speak to me at the time. I do love the taco chiwas, which is beef and ham together with cheese. This time I got an asada burrito and a side of street corn. Both were delicious! That street corn is so flipping good.. yum! Well I did like my burrito, I have to say that next time I'll go back to my order of three different tacos. And of course, I have to have the street corn!

Tacos Chiwas is a Mexican staple in the valley. The food is deceptively simple but the flavors are on point. I ordered a chicken quesadilla this time and it was delicious! The chicken was juicy, grilled, and seasoned perfectly! I think we've tried all the tacos by now-- all yummy. Had some sides- the beans and elote. Haven't had a burrito yet, but that's next time. Service is fast and casual, sitting at the bar is a must if you plan to have more than one round of drinks. That way you don't need to get back in line to order. The cocktails are very good! The Paloma is refreshing as expected and the Mexican whiskey sour was delicious last night. I asked what makes it "Mexican" versus any whiskey sour and they use a bourbon from Mexico. I didn't find out the name of it, but it was great. No sweet and sour mixes used here, they do it right- they use lemon and lime juice and fresh ingredients. That's why getting a Paloma, whiskey sour, or margarita is better tasting than other Mexican restaurants. The taco sauce, aka salsas, are also very good. Deep flavors and nice heat on the red one. Creamy guacamole sauce is nice too. All in all, whenever we are in DT Mesa we go to Tacos Chiwas. It's always great!

Stop by to have a quick tacos. Quick service, tacos come out really fast and they all taste delicious. Great street corns. Restaurant not too big but still has plenty of seats.

Trying to decide what to order? Taco your time! There are so many delicious tacos/burritos/gorditas and quesadillas to choose from. Tacos Chiwas is a family-owned restaurant, serving up some of the best Chihuahua style food. They currently have three locations serving the valley: Phoenix, Mesa and Chandler. Why did it take me so long to visit Tacos Chiwas?! We may never know the answer, but I'm glad I finally did. On this visit, I decided to get a little bit of everything: ($9) Pollo burrito, ($3) carnitas taco, ($3) barbacoa taco and ($5) deshebrada roja gordita. All of the tacos use homemade corn tortillas while the gorditas and burritos use flour (yum). $3 for amazing tacos! Someone better take my wallet away from me before I go broke. Everything I ate was delicious and I would definitely order again... especially that gordita. One thing I didn't expect was the speed of service. My food was ready to go within a matter of minutes!

I had super high expectations for this place. Everyone at work raves about it!! I ordered the carnitas tacos with a side of beans....they lacked flavor and coming from a white girls that says something (LOL) Met my friend who is Hispanic so I was trying to find him some authentic food that I would also enjoy. He ordered the tongue tacos and was also not impressed. Very bland. The beans however....those were delicious!! The place was packed and the service was fantastic! Our food was brought out super fast and that appreciated. What is great about AZ is the variety of Mexican restaurants and that there is something for every tastebud!! Please come and enjoy Taco Chiwas....give your feed back. You may love it as so many do....as for me...I am glad I experienced it and that was enough for me. 4 stars for fast service and great beans! Tacos are a 3 star....the taste was bland. Not good, not bad...no flavor.
